CA (Dr.) Sanjeev Kumar Singhal, Central Council Member, ICAI, Founder, CA Parivaar

An FCA with 26 years of professonal experience and the awardee of the CA Professional Achiever Award 2014 for outstanding contribution to industry and the NIRC Best Faculty Award, Dr. Singhal was conferred the PhD by the Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi for his research on International Finance. He did his M.Com from the Depertment of Commerce, Delhi College of Economics, after completing B.Com (Hons.) from SRCC, Delhi University. His articleship en-route to being a Chartered Accountant was with A F Ferguson, Delhi, Dr. Singhal has done a certificate course on IFRS from ICAI and has received more than 110 merit certificates for academic achievements and extra-curricular activities in school and college. He is a recipient of the Prof A B Ghosh Prize for highest marks in Economics Group Papers, from Delhi University where he was the university topper and received the Prof Jai Narain Vaish Gold Medal Award.

Dr. Singhal’s professional experience has been a mix of industry, consulting, and academia, in the following organisations: Cyber Media – Vice President, Finance, Religare – Executive Vice President Finance, Jubilant Life Sciences – Vice President, etc. In consulting, he worked as Partner at B L Aggarwal Sohwasia and Co., and is currently a Partner at S R Batliboi & Co. LLP, Chartered Accountants. In academia, he worked as an associate professor at FORE School of Management Some of the key professional responsibilities held in India by Dr. Singhal are as Chairman, Auditing and Assurance Standards Board, Chairman, Public Relation Committee, Vice Chairman, Sustainability Reporting Standards Board, Director, XBRL India, Director, Institute of Social Auditors of India, Government Nominee at NACAS & contributed towards resolving industry & professional interest issues, Special Invitee, CARO group, set up by MCA, Member, SEBI task Force on Social Stock Exchange, Member, Niti Aayog panel on Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) for private sector, Member, MCA IBBI Group on insolvency indicators, Member, C&AG Natural Resoucre Accounting Cell, Member, Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) Committee on Sustainable Finance, besides being a Member of various committees of ICAI

Some key professional responsibility held globally include being the Chairman, UNCTAD ISAR 39 Session, Member, ASEAN Federation of Accountants, Nominating Committee for the Standard Setting Board and Member, SAFA committee on auditing and quality standards.

Dr. Singhal’s contribution to society at large include, those through CA Parivaar which he founded, and which started various helplines during Covid 19 for free Sanjeevani ambulance, arranging critical medicines, free food packets, sanitizers, mask and PPE kits, setting up an Oxygen plant at Muni Maya Ram Kanshi Ram Jain Hospital, Pitampura. The Parivaar also started helplines for yoga, meditation and counselling, meals and dry ration, arranging hospital beds and financial matters etc., Dr. Singhal was a major driving force behind the CA Parivaar to start the Socio Economic Tranformation Project – Shikha Sahyog Scholarship Scheme for CA Students – under which 214 students, so far, have been given full scholarship, the mission “Food for all” under which 500 poor people are served food every day outside Delhi hospitals like AIIMS and Safdarjung, etc.

He is an active volunteer at “Can Support” working for cancer-affected people, trustee and volunteer at the Blind Ashram, Ghevra, Delhi, trustee at Shri Krishna Ayurvedic Hospital, Charkhi Dadri, Haryana & at Shri Vaishya Vikas Parishad, Delhi and is instrumental in starting a school under Ekal Vidyalaya, besides instituting several scholarships at SBM School, Delhi

Dr. Singhal has over 14 books published by leading publishers including Bharat Law House, CCH, Lexis Nexis, Bloomsbury, etc., on Ind AS, IGAAP, Schedule II to the Companies Act, 2013, Revised Schedule VI, etc. to his credit. He has published several research papers published in leading journals and ICAI publications.

Dr Pragati Mehra

Associate Professor, Motilal Nehru College, University of Delhi.

Dr. Pragati graduated from Shri Ram College of Commerce and completed post graduation and doctoral degree from Department of Commerce, Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi.

She has been in academia for more than 25 years in various institutions like Shri Ram College of Commerce, Department of Commerce in South Campus, University of Delhi and Motilal Nehru College.

Finance being her area of specialisation, she taught financial management, cost accounting, management accounting and fundamentals of investment.

Dr. Pragati Mehra has published research papers in areas of value added tax, finance and sustainability.

Dr. Mehra has cleared CA (Intermediate).
